Most people complain when Amtrak is sidelined by slow freight trains. Not me. It affords one ample time to take in the scenery. I only wish they'd let passengers outside to better appreciate the sights and sounds while waiting.

Sophora secundiflora is a surprisingly popular garden plant, which you can buy at various garden centers and hardware stores, e.g. Lowes. You could also simply venture out to its natural habitat in the South and collect a few seeds. Tip: wait for the pods to dry on the shrub.

Series Description: Scenes from my vacations aboard the Sunset Limited, Coast Starlight, California Zephyr, Empire Builder, Cardinal, etc. Destinations included the Bahamas, the Olympic Peninsula, and Cape Hatteras. LA Union Station was often my starting point.
