For native Americans, life settlement has been turbulent to say the least. First the white man brought violence and disease. Then it was alcoholism. In the wake of all that disturbance, the few remaining indigenous populations have all but abandoned their original ways of life, in favor of the "civilized" route. It's been a lamentable process.
Series Description: The settlement of life is a long process, but its progress & results can be gauged in an instant -- by consulting the faces, postures and dispositions of people.
